Granny's Kitchen Restaurant

We went to Granny's Kitchen Restaurant to have lunch after MPig finished his badminton.

Granny's Kitchen Restaurant located at Desa Petaling, next to Plaza Salak Park (SPARK). It is restaurant that sell home made noodles and rice such as the one made by our grandma or mother when we were small. It makes you feel that you back to the old days enjoying home cooked food at home.

The menu provided in this restaurant, ranged from noodles, pan mee, rice, porridge to chee cheong fun and yong tau foo. There is also various type of desserts, or chinese called 糖水.

I ordered Chicken Mushroom Pan Mee 冬菇鸡丝面粉粿. The noodles is very smooth. It will come with some fried anchovies and home made sambal. It is at set meal where it comes with fried wan tan and soya bean milk leong fan. (RM8.80)

The fried wan tan is considered small and with just a few fillings.

MPig ordered Curry Chicken Choo Chang Fen 咖哩鸡猪肠粉 (RM5.90). The taste is really like our home cooked chicken curry with chee cheong fan.

He also order 鱼翅瓜雪耳红枣糖水. (RM 5.80).

If you miss your mother or grandma's home cooking, I will recommend you to come to Granny's Kitchen to search back your younger days reminisce.

At SPARK, there is a Rest and Go Area, provided by Gintell, where you just have to slot in RM1 to the Chair, it will help you massage your whole body for 3 minutes. RM 5 for 15 minutes and RM 10 for 30 minutes. I felt that the power of the massage is not enough to ease my body ache. ;p

After having lunch, we went to SPARK MBO, watched Super 8 with Boon and wife. Super 8 is a movie that shooted based on 1980's way of shooting. It is an American Science fiction movie produced by Steven Spielberg. The story line narrates a group of teenagers, faced some dangerous and met with aliens when filming their own super 8 movie.

Kenny Rogers Roaster Restaurant

During FPig holiday at Penang, FPig went to 1-avenue for the first time with mom and Kenneth. There was not much shop opened at 1-avenue. I noticed that most of the shops are selling shoes. It is a bit weird to me.

We had our lunch at Kenny Rogers Roaster Restaurant. We ordered a quarter chicken set meal which comes with two side dishes, a muffin.

You can choose the chocolate, vanila or original flavour muffin. It costs RM 14.90. I felt that the quarter size chicken was a bit too small. The mocha is just nice.

According to wikipedia sources, Kenny Rogers Roasters is a chicken restaurant that was founded by Country musician Kenny Rogers and former Kentucky governor John Y. Brown, Jr., who had also owned Kentucky Fried Chicken from 1964 to 1971. The menu was originally centered on wood-fired rotisserie chicken. After closing all of its U.S. operations, Kenny Rogers Roasters now operates primarily in Asia.

Aeroline Coach to Penang

FPig wanted to go back Penang. MPig afraid that it was not safe for FPig to go to Puduraya to buy a normal coach ticket back to Penang. Even though now Puduraya has already refurbished and there was air-conditioned in the whole building, clean and nice, like airport.

MPig suggested me to try Aeroline, even though it is double the normal price, but at least it is considered the first class coach in Malaysia from KL to PG if compared to the rest.

It costs RM60 per journey from KL to PG. There is a lot of departure station in KL. You can either take it in KL, Sunway, the Mines or 1-Utama. Since 1-Utama is the nearest to our house, I choosed the one on Sunday morning. There was only two boarding time per day. One is 10:30am and the other one is 4:30pm.

The journey was considered quite comfortable and fast. It took around 4 hours to reach Penang. It reached Queensbay mall as the first stop and the final destination is the Sungai Dua Bus Terminal. It stopped once after around 2 hours journey.

It provides complimentary water and a subway sandwich of the day. There was a coach crew besides the driver. Hot drinks like coffee, tea or milo will be provided.

The coach has two decker. The lower decker has a few sofa setting with a big LCD screen TV.

The top decker is like the normal coach setting. Some passengers prefer to sit at the low decker, so there will be some empty spaces at the top decker. I noticed that there was some elderly who sat at the lower decker because it was spacious and they did not have to climb the stairs to the top.

All in all, I found that it can be considered worth the price. Even though the sofa and the window curtain was a bit old and smelly.

You can book the ticket online via www.aeroline.com.my, paying through credit card will be charged 3%.The alternative way is go to the ticket selling point to buy the ticket.

This is the waiting lounge at 1-utama. Coffee and tea are provided free of charge. There is free wifi, but I just wonder why I cannot login at all. ;p

One normal Friday

FPig said that she was craving for Tomyam. Hence, MPig decided to take FPig to have Tomyam at Beragas, Bandar Sri Damansara.
I have forgotten to take my camera, so we did not take any pictures. I am sure I will ask MPig to go again. We had telur dadar, tomyam seafood soup, ayam paprik, two nasi putih and a watermelon juice jumbo. It costed us RM15.50 for everything. It is indeed very reasonable price. MPig likes the way Malay do business, they will not cook a lot and charge you expensively, unlike Chinese, they will cook for two person meal and charge you for two person meal. In fact, we cannot even finish it.

Then I said that I to go to Tesco at Kepong Village Mall to have a look. We just realised that there is a cinema and some stores besides the Tesco.

The cinema is quite new, it is MBO. We have another choice of places to watch movie besides Kepong Jusco and 1-Utama. But MBO does not allow online booking.

I signed up Tesco Club card for free. I requested for three cards, it is free. Unlike Jusco card where we need to pay the annual fees. Hence, I like to shop in Tesco. First, of cause I can collect points. Secondly, it is free parking. Thirdly, MPig also admits that the vegetables sell in Tesco is more cheap. He can watch movie at MBO too.

The Stolen Recipe Restaurant

After a hectic week of work, MPig decided to have a big dinner to celebrate the weekend. We went to Stolen Recipe in Aman Puri Kepong. It has a unique setting with extraordinary concept restaurant. There is the live singing performance at night. The staffs are friendly and polite.

This restaurant offer western cuisine with affordable price. But I have to admit that the food portion is considered quite small. Both of us did not feel full after the meal.

I ordered Seafood Pomodoro RM 17.88. There was prawns, squids, clams, mussels with traditional special pomodoro sauce topped with parmesan cheese. It was served with two choices of side dishes. I choosed potato salad and coleslaw as side dishes. To me, I think the pomodoro sauce is just the normal tomato puree. Nothing special at all. There was just less than 5 prawns and mussels in the meal. I don't feel it worth the price.

MPig had Char Broiled beef Steak RM 26.88. It came with mashed potatos and boiled vegetables side dishes. As I don't eat beef, I can't comment on it. But I saw the medium cooked steak was quite tender and juicy. But again, the portion is quite small.

We had cooling passionate soda, RM 7.88. It is just the lime juice in sparking water.

Since we came early, we had no chance to enjoy the entertainment performances.
