Pasta with beetroot and sweetcorn sauce

Sunday breakfast, mummy decided to cook pasta with beetroot and sweetcorn sauce for the sisters.

As usual, mummy will opt for fast and quick preparation and cooking before the two sisters wake up. Mummy is also super lazy on the Sunday morning, luckily mummy does not have to cut the beetroot, sweetcorn and blend them into juice.

Mummy used beetroot and sweetcorn powder by Zoey's Kitchen. The Homemade Dehydrated Organic Beetroot mixed Sweetcorn Powder is full of nutrients and healthy for babies at the age of 1.

The pasta sauce contained natural sweetness and the sisters like it so much.

Recipe of the pasta with beetroot and sweetcorn cause is as follows:

Ingredients:-
~ 2x Tablespoon (or more) Zoey's Kitchen beetroot and sweetcorn powder mixed with 200ml water - as sauce
~ diced carrot
~ fresh mushroom
~ chopped garlic
~ brocolli
~ Spiral pasta
~ vegetable oil

Steps:-
1. Boil the pasta until softened. Drain the pasta and set aside.
2. Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Cook and stir the chopped garlic in oil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden yellow.
3. Add in the diced carrot, fresh mushroom and brocolli. Cook for 5 minutes and add in beetroot and sweetcorn sauce.
4. Add in the pasta and stir well.
4. Ready to serve ^^

Sensory play - homemade play dough

Sensory play enhances learning through hands on activities. This will stimulate children senses. It is a great way for children to explore the world they live in.

Anna is an active kid. She likes to play my blue tag that I stick pictures on the wall.

So I decided to make homemade play dough for her to play. I feel that play dough in the market is not safe for a 2.5 year old kids. I afraid that she might eat it.

She enjoys playing the play dough. It is reusable. After playing, I keep in the fridge and can playing again. It can keep for around 3 months. To avoid her shirt from being dirty, I let her use the Bestborn cartoon bib.

My breastfeeding journey

I am a breastfeeding cum working mom for two. One is a 2.5 year old toddler and another one has just celebrated her first birthday.
I was a Exclusive pumping (EP) mother for one year for my elder daughter. I maintained my supply by pumping every 4 hours everyday even when I was in work.

Then I stopped when I was pregnant again. As for now, I pump every 4 hours once during day time or when my daughter is not with me. I let her direct latch at night.

Thanks god that I manage to maintain the supply since her birth until now. I am glad that my milk are able to supply my two girls and one baby boy whose age is near to my younger daughter.

You may wonder how am I able to pump at work? I have 3 understandable colleagues in the office cubicle. There is a fridge for me to keep my freemie and my ebm too.

As a breastfeeding mom, I will bring around my pump, my freemie, my icepack where ever I go. I pump anywhere whenever it reaches my pumping time.

I pumped in the car, at starbucks, MCD, KFC etc. I am able to pump around 5 oz for each side for every pumping.

My pumping schedule is 5:30 am, 10am, 2 pm, 6:30 pm, night dl.

Don't I feel tired to pump as schedule everyday? I feel contented when I notice that my two daughters are healthy and less sick. Then how tired also worthy.

My elder daughter drink the ebm like drinking plain water. When they are fever or sick, I believe that BM is the best medicine.

What do I have to maintain such supply? Well, I eat everything. I do drink some coffee too. But to me, drinking a lot of fluid is important to maintain the supply. At least 2 litres per day.

I drink oat milk or overnight oat in the morning, milo for tea time, a lot of soup. I also put some fenugreek powder in my drink and chia seed in my plain water.

My milk booster? I will say cheese cake, pork knuckle, red bean soup and black bean soup..

This is the best food in the world that I can give my daugthers. It is the precious gift for them. In order to keep the memories forever, I used my extra BM to make soap and breast milk jewelry.

I know that this pumping and DL experience is just a stage for me and my daughter. I really precious the moment with them.

BestBorn Cartoon Silicone Bib for toddler

During the school holiday, we let Anna to make her own spaghetti with sausages. She was so excited. Then mommy cooked it with mushroom carbonara sauce for her to eat. Anna is just 2.5 years old. She does not need us to feed her to eat. She eats by herself since young. We let her wear the Silicone bib so that it will not make her clothes dirty.

Honey Delight's Homemade Cake

My mom has a tradition that all children first birthday must have a BOOK shape cake so that the child will grow up to love to study and like books.

Recently, we were preparing for our youngest daughter's first birthday. Due to some unpleasant experience with the cake we ordered for our elder daughter's first birthday, we were very caution on choosing a cake house to make cake. You will noticed that with the same price we paid, with the same requirement for BOOK shape cake, there is a huge different in the design.
